Habitat Mapping / Open Space Planning / Natural Resource Identification (NRI)
Sponsor: Acworth Conservation Commission
Stewardship Technology has been providing ongoing support to the Acworth Conservation Commission for several years. The current targeted niche is to provide assistance for the development of "fine filter" or local scale habitat identification and prioritization products, to compliment recently completed "coarse filter" efforts. The level of community activism, combined with a phenomenal landscape, makes Acworth our favorite work/play environment!

San Francisco Peaks Road Inventory
Sponsor: Grand Canyon Trust / USFS
Coordinated the GIS development component of the effort, including the design of an automated GPS data correction process, and subsequent GIS data layer development with relational database design.

Massachusetts Resource Identification Project (MRIP)
Sponsor: Environmental Protection Agency, New England Region One
Coordinated the Massachusetts Resource Identification Project, a component of the EPA New England Resource Protection Project. Primary objective involved the development of an automated GIS decision support system for assistance with natural resource / conservation planning applications.

Provided analysis and map production for Losing Ground II, a report produced by the Massachusetts Audubon Society highlighting growth impacts and trends on statewide biodiversity.

Temporal Landuse Analysis for the Gran Pajonal Region, Peru
Sponsor: Dr. Soren Hvalkof (P.I.); Danish Resource Council
Responsibilities included proposal and data development, analysis, and map production. The project was conducted in support of Dr. Soren Hvalkof’s hypothesis related to the impact of both indigenous and settler communities on the regional ecosystem. Digital data developed for this project originated from an array of data sources: existing analog maps, 1950’s, 60’s, and 80’s aerial photographs, and a 1997 Spot image. The project was presented to the Danish Resource Council, Denmark, and the World Bank, New York.

Batchelder Property - 273 acres. Acworth, NH

Recently developed forest management plan was converted to a GIS database format. Descriptive and prescriptive information contained within the report, relating to individual stands, was "expressed" as thematic maps, exemplifying the concept of "one graphic conveying the message of a thousand words of text". GIS & GPS technology will be used to assist long term woodlot management activities.

Grader Woodlot - 312 acres. Goshen, NH
Development of a property database of select features (e.g. boundary, trails, deer stands, cultural features, etc.) through GPS capture as well as conversion of existing map products. Property has recently been accepted into the NH Tree Farm Program. Stewardship Technology will continue to use GIS and GPS tools to assist landowners with active woodlot management, including a 2005 forest management plan update.

Hinman Property - Acworth, NH
GPS data capture and GIS data development and map production to support Current Use program enrollment, as well as the pending development of a forest management plan.

Rhoades Property - 79 Acres- Alstead, NH
Activity "on the ground" within this woodlot has a lengthy history of engagement. A Tree Farm property demonstrating many components related to sound woodlot management.
